ACH – AUTOMATED CLEARING HOUSE
Farmers Trust receives and originates transactions through the Automated Clearing House (ACH) system.
ACH enables you to receive or send payroll or any other recurring or one-time payments electronically. Benefits of using ACH include:
- Safety – No risk of lost or stolen checks.
- Reliability – No delays caused by unforeseen events.
- Ease – No need to make a trip to cash or deposit a check.
- Fast Access – Money is accessible sooner.
If you are a business entity looking to originate ACH transactions or payroll, please contact a Bank officer for additional details.
Use this service to set up transfers between your Farmers Trust accounts. Examples include making loan payments or transferring funds periodically to your other checking or savings accounts. Ask us for details on other transfer options.
Check cashing services are provided in the main lobby and drive-up for both customers and non-customers. Fees apply for non-customers. Farmers Trust reserves the right to refuse to cash any check.
Farmers Trust can assist you with making copies or sending/receiving faxes. Fees apply.
Our drive-up located in the alley behind the Bank is open at 8:00AM - 6:00 PM Monday and Friday and 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Tuesday through Thursday. The drive-up is a quick and convenient way to complete your banking when you are in a hurry.
Make gift giving EASY with a Farmers Trust gift card! Our prepaid Visa® Gift Card is the perfect gift for any occasion. A variety of popular designs is available. Gift Cards may be purchased from any of our lobby tellers. A minimal fee is charged for each card issued.
Both Bank Money Orders and Personal Money Orders are available.
Personal Money Orders - Need a one-time check to pay a bill or to move money? Never send cash. Use a Personal Money Order instead. Personal Money Orders are a convenient, inexpensive and safe method of payment used by many of our customers. Personal Money Orders provide a valuable proof of payment. As the purchaser, you keep one copy of the Personal Money Order for your records. The payee-endorsed original, once paid, is kept at the Bank. If the Personal Money Order is lost, it may be easily replaced without hassle for just the cost of a stop payment order.
Personal Money Orders may be purchased from any of our lobby tellers in any amount up to $5,000. A minimal fee is charged for each item issued.
Bank Money Orders - A Bank Money Order (also known as a Cashier's Check) represents guaranteed funds and is the much safer equivalent of cash. The Cashier's Check is ideal anytime there is an exchange of ownership interests or property title for the purchaser's payment. Selling a car or boat? Before you hand over the signed and notarized title, make sure you get paid. Payment by cash is fine but not really safe. Payment by Cashier's Check may be a much better alternative.
Bank Money Orders are available to both customers and non-customers in exchange for cash or other guaranteed/collected funds.
A word of caution: Cashier's Checks are not subject to a stop payment order and replacement requires a lost instrument affidavit and may require a lost instrument bond from your insurance provider. These items should be treated with special care because they may be difficult to replace.

For the safety and convenience of our customers, two 24-hour night depositories are available. One is located at the front entrance of the Bank. The second is located in our Express Banking Center drive-up facility. Contact a Customer Service Representative to purchase vinyl zipper or locking bags and to secure a night depository key.
Notary services are provided to both our customers and non-customers. For your protection, we may require proper identification with a photo and signature. All information must be completed on the document being notarized; however, do not sign the document until you are in front of a notary public. If you are unsure about what information is required on a document, please contact your legal counsel for advice. A minimal per document fee applies.

Protect your valuables and important documents from theft, fire, natural disaster, or prying eyes. We have a variety of safe deposit box sizes available. Annual rental fees will be discounted when automatically deducted from your Farmers Trust checking or savings account.
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) does not insure the contents of safe deposit boxes. A safe deposit box is only a secure storage space provided by the Bank. For box availability, stop in or call us at 319-668-2525.
Savings Bonds make a great gift and are an excellent way to save for the future! You may redeem eligible savings bonds in the main Bank lobby. To purchase U.S. Savings Bonds or learn more go to www.savingsbonds.gov.
If you have ever lost a check or if you have used a check to purchase a product or service that turned out to be misrepresented or defective, you know the importance of a Stop Payment Order. Call us as soon as you become aware of a problem, give us the necessary information and we will add the stop payment order to our records. You may also place your stop payment order yourself using Online Express Internet Banking.
There is a modest fee for each stop payment order requested. Any of our Customer Service Representatives can help you with this service.
A savings account is an ideal way to segregate funds for a special purpose or for the future payment of a known expense. Our Sure-Save service helps your savings account grow systematically with automatic transfers from your checking account. Simply let us know how much you would like to transfer, what accounts the transfer should involve and how often you would like the transfer to happen.

WIRE TRANSFERS
Send money fast using our wire transfer services. You can transfer funds between financial institutions on the same business day.
Incoming wire notification is available. Outgoing wire transfer requests may be made in person, via fax, telephone or email, subject to our verification procedures. Wire transfers can be made Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and are available to Farmers Trust customers for a nominal fee.
